Starting off honest is what everyone suggests so I might as well follow it. I was really anxious and nervous getting on that plane today. I had to drive back to the house for my immunization records and forgot my watch which I left on the bedside table specifically so I would not forget it. I read the whole time in the airport and slept the whole flight trying not to think about it. I will be gone for 2.5 years. Out of the country, out of the lives of the ones I love.

After a somewhat short, but expensive cab ride to the hotel, the concierge took my bags and I traveled upstairs to check in. Little did I know yet again in this Peace Corps process I was mistaken for a boy because of my deceiving name. Having to find a staff member who was here hours before needed I finally changed rooms. Thankfully I have arrived early.

I am currently sitting in the lobby. Writing this blogpost for all you who want to follow my adventure. It began this morning traveling to San Francisco to await my staging orientation. I am so excited, but still dreading the shots I have to get....
